Acccording to commission regulation 655-2013 Annex 1.5 (“claim regulation”):
(1) Claims for cosmetic products shall be objective and shall not denigrate the competitors, nor shall they denigrate ingredients legally used.
(2) Claims for cosmetic products shall not create confusion with the product of a competitor
By claiming not to apply a legally allowed raw material in the cosmetic product (like parabens) denigrates competition, violates laws and is not tolarable anymore.
Advertising with “contains no … ..” is therefore no longer allowed with some exceptions.
But there is a solution: the “Clean Beauty” standard here
